Internet Search Trends

If you are searching the internet for “new homes Colorado Springs” you are among thousands who are performing the same search. According to Google, in November 2009 there were approximately 8,100 searches performed related to “new homes Colorado Springs.”

The search term “new homes Colorado Springs” is the most popular phrase used by people who are looking for information about the subject. Variations of this term include “new homes in Colorado Springs,” “Colorado Springs new homes” and “Colorado Springs new home builders.”

In the past six years, 2005 had the highest volume of internet searches for “new homes Colorado Springs.” There were approximately three to four times as many searches for “new homes Colorado Springs” in 2005 compared to 2009. Most of the decrease in searches happened in 2006 and 2007 but has been relatively level since July 2008. We expect that the number of searches will increase dramatically in 2010.

Why is this important? As a home builder, it is important for us to be aware of trends related to people searching for “new homes Colorado Springs.” An increase in searches may indicate that more people are considering purchasing a new home. Based on past trends, we expect an increase in searches for “new homes Colorado Springs” to come before an increase in purchases of new homes in the following one to six months.

As a home buyer, this is important because an increase in internet searches for “new homes Colorado Springs” could signal a potential change in the new home market. As more people become interested in buying new homes there is the possibility of decreased new home availability, fewer quality building lots, and an increase in home prices.

The Benefits of 2x6 Construction

Why Saddletree and Symphony Homes Uses 2x6 Construction on Exterior Walls

2x6 construction refers to the framing material used to build the frame of a home.  Most home builders use 2x4 studs to construct both the interior and exterior walls of the home, meaning that the approximate depth of the walls is 3 ½ inches. Saddletree and Symphony Homes uses 2 x 6 studs to frame the exterior walls of all living spaces.

When a home is built using 2x6 studs, that means the depth of the wall will be approximately 5 ½  inches. That added depth of the wall allows for additional insulation. This provides a better barrier from the elements (both hot and cold) and therefore increased energy savings.  Additionally, thicker walls and thicker insulation means a quieter home as more outside sound is blocked from entering the home. You will hear and feel the difference of 2x6 construction

Some of the benefits of 2x6 construction include:

  • Stronger, better built homes
  • Quieter more peaceful living
  • Significant savings on your annual utility bills
  • R-21 wall rating (compared to R-14 for 2x4 construction)
  • 46% more wall insulation than standard 2x4 construction

Beginning in January 2009, every Saddletree Home is built with 2x6 exterior walls (garage excluded).
